Taxiarchis Vafeas
Founder, CEO & Chief AI Officer, PHOENIX VERUS
Short answer
Taxiarchis Vafeas is the founder, CEO and Chief AI Officer of PHOENIX VERUS, an AI and answer engine optimization company based in Greece. He works across Greek and international markets on AI visibility measurement, paid search and AI automation for clients across European markets.
Practice
The work divides into two halves that are usually sold by different firms. One is demand that exists today: paid search, analytics and conversion measurement. The other is demand that is being redirected through AI assistants: measuring how those systems describe a company, and improving the entity, content and structured data that shape that description.
He builds the measurement rather than licensing it. Every figure presented to a client traces to a system he can open in front of them, which is the reason the two halves stay one engagement instead of becoming two vendors.
Background
He entered commerce before he entered marketing. At 19 he was working with business owners on Amazon listings and sales operations; at 20 he founded his first company, which put marketing, team leadership and cash management in front of him as operating requirements rather than subjects.
A period of testing business models followed — affiliate, dropshipping and e-commerce — each of which functioned as applied study in customer acquisition and conversion economics. Google Ads is where the work turned technical, and where performance marketing became the specialism.
The formal training came through Meta's Expert Program, where he served as Team Leader, and Google's Customer Success Program. Across the career the exposure spans more than twelve industries, with the deepest work in hospitality, professional services and e-commerce.

Published positions
Two positions appear consistently in his client work and are stated here so they can be checked rather than assumed.
On AI search: Google's own documentation states that there are no additional technical requirements and no special optimisations needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode — a page must simply be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet. The practical consequence is that most of what is sold as "AI SEO" is ordinary technical SEO with a new invoice, and the genuine differentiators are entity clarity and third-party corroboration.
On llms.txt: publish it, because it costs twenty minutes and is a defensible bet on agentic retrieval. Do not buy it as a ranking factor. Google has stated on the record that it does not use the file.
